LOUHE’s annual Tiedosta Uusi Mahdollisuus (“Discover New Possibilities”) event brought together security industry experts at Korjaamo, in Helsinki, to explore the future of AI in security. Attendees, both familiar and new faces, engaged in a thought-provoking morning filled with insightful discussions.

LOUHE’s founder and CTO, Hannes Huotari, gave a speech on LOUHE’s role in detecting and managing security anomalies. He emphasized that while AI processes vast data and identifies deviations, human expertise remains essential in interpreting these findings. “LOUHE transforms data into understanding,” he noted, underscoring the synergy between AI and human insight.
The first guest speaker, Timo Martiskainen of Traficom, provided an overview of satellite services and EU satellite projects. He highlighted the importance of positioning services for societal operations and explained satellite technology’s role in enhancing emergency alert services.
Jyrki Guttorm, Head of Security at Yle, shared insights on security’s importance in critical infrastructure. He highlighted AI’s value in connecting data across security systems and emphasized educating staff on AI’s ethical applications to foster understanding and trust.
The event concluded with an inspiring talk from WithSecure’s research director and LOUHE’s investor and advisor Mikko Hyppönen. Discussing technology revolutions, he emphasized the responsibilities and potential of innovations and expressed an optimistic outlook, asserting that Finland has the potential to lead globally in tech.
